HAHAHAHA! Good for the feds. I can personally atest to the usefulness of an air bag. I was in crash at 60+ mph, now while the airbag did scratch my forehead a little and I did get a concussion. If that airbag had not deployed my head would have been implanted in the steering wheel, I would either be dead or in a coma, no doubts.

As for a TV screen in the front of a vehicle? Lunacy! I dislike the idea of those stupid navigation screens in vehicles. There are enough distractions outside the car, why add more to the inside?

You're forgetting the idiot-factor.

There are moron labels because people have actually done these things:

Found on the instruction sheet of a Conair Pro Style 1600 hair dryer:
WARNING: Do not use in shower. Never use while sleeping.

Found on Axius Sno-Off Automobile Windshield cover:
Caution: Never drive with the cover on your windshield.

Found on packages of Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-ups:
Peel fruit from cellophane before eating.

Found a box of Tampax Tampons:
Remove used tampon before inserting a new one.

Found on a box of Kellogg’* Pop-Tarts:
Warning: Pastry Filling May Be Hot When Heated.

Found on “Bat Man The Animated Series Armor Set” Halloween costume box:
PARENT: Please exercise caution—mask and chest plate are not protective; cape does not enable wearer to fly.

Found in a television set’* owner’* manual:
Do not pour liquids into your television set.

Found on a butane lighter:
Warning: Flame may cause fire.

Need I say more?

The feds were absolutely correct in what they did. They did not go looking for companies to invade they responded to a publication advertising illegal deeds (disabling airbags) which fell under their jurisdiction.

If people want to put TV'*, GPS'*, showers, hot tubs, etc... in their cars then by all means they should be allowed to do it. Common sense dictates that the driver should pay attention to the road instead of a movie while driving but often that fails to be the case and so some states created laws to outlaw the USE (not installation) of these items by drivers (or in the drivers view, mainly the front seats).

Remoing airbags and tampering with other security devices are illegal for a reason and in my opinion distractions such as viewable operating TV'*, laptops, palm devices, etc... disable the most important security feature of a car....the drivers concetration.
