Four years Army. 6 months in Knox for training, 2 years in Germany and 1.5 years in Carson. Was in from 86-90.
3rd Infantry in Germany, and 4th ID in Colorado.
Bradley fighting vehicle systems mechanic with a D4 identifier(ITV and Fist V). MOS: 45T
I worked on Bradleys(both CFV and IFV), Tow launchers and fist V turrets. Also crossed trained on plenty of wheel and track vehicles.
Got out as a spec 4 promotable. The two people in the Army which got no respect as far as promotions: cooks and mechanics. Our points needed was always 998, so I never got enough for Sgt.

USMC - 1/26/98 through 1/25/02 .... Inactive reserve duty until 5/16/05
MOS - 3521 Motor Transport Diesel Mechanic
Started out working on HMMWVs (Hummers) for two weeks, then (with no schooling...lol) they moved me to working on the LVS for about 1 year. Then I went back to HMMWVs for 1 week, and got moved to working on the 5-ton trucks after that (for about 4 or 5 months). Then I worked in the tool room (due to injury) for about 1-1/2 years. In June of 2001, we moved shops. I worked on HMMWVs again for 2 days, then I was put in Quality Control.
I got out as a Lance Corporal (E-3) because the battalion personnel kept losing my paperwork (I lost count how many times that happened). Otherwise, I would've been a Sergeant (E-5).
