purple Plymoth Neon from 1998. Someone, please give me positive thoughts on this car. It'* not my purchase, so I really can't say too much about it. It...it...looks like a purple chicken nugget on wheels to me.

My rednecky fiance is going from driving his HUGE 1983 Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4 (8mpg) for this little purple Neon (30mpg) to save a bit of money when we move. I give it a week before he goes through major v8 withdrawl and steals my K1500 Silverado.

Tell him that my wife has a 96 Neon.. Whenever I drive it, I feel like I have to get out and help the engine by pushing it up hills..

I had one and HATED it!! Luckily my son got into a low impact accident and it totalled out the car in the first 18 days I owned it. It hurt my knees and it felt like I was scooting my butt down the highway. I have no doubts that if I had been hit at a higher speed I would have been seriously injured. My son was hit on the passenger side and the car crumpled.

Kinda like a "life car" to take out in case you blow a tire and need to head down to the nearest service station.

It'* hard to come up w/anything reassuring about the neon, other than it looks good, especially since we are used to our Bonnevilles. But, on the plus side, he should be able to sell it quickly, to a needy teenage girl, once he decides he'* had enough and gets a GA or G6, both of which I consider much better vehicles. Even the much taunted Honda is a better vehicle <ducks to avoid all the brickbats thrown>

Your future husband could be a "in the closet and hasn't yet come out" man. That explains the reason why he'* buying a Dodge Neon which was marketed TOWARDS YOUNG GIRLS And add insult to injury, it'* PURPLE!

Sorry i had to get that off my chest, now I want you to say to your husband to be that once you marry him, you will DIVORCE him if he keeps that car. I have to agree with the others, a Grand Am is much better alternative, it gets about the same mpg, has more room, looks better and is a PONTIAC!

You asked for a postive reassurance, well honey, there ain't any...
