Default Well Folks, say goodbye to my Canon

Multifunction, printer, copier, fax, and scanner. It'* going to cost to much to fix it so I guess I'm going to have to give it a burial. I'm going to miss my colour printer, even if it is a ink jet.

No I'm not getting one in the near future cause there is no budget for one.

That cost certainly is low. I swore though that I would never buy another inkjet printer again. Reason being is the cartridges are so damn expensive in relation to cost per page.

Don't really want to get into a debate, but I think you get your monies worth with a laser, in the long run that is.

I 100% agree with you... but its hard to find a color laser for cheap.

I dont even have a working printer at home cuz of the cost of ink. I just use the color laser at work

It'* a Canon Multipass C5500. and I have 2 problems.

1. When I installed a warrantly hardrive several months ago, the Canon didn't seem to work well with XP even when I went online and installed the new updated 98 se to XP drivers. The screen kept on goint to a blue screen and freezing up on me. A Dell rep told me the it was related to the new XP drivers.

2. I have been using it for copy, scan and fax only but now it tells me to install a new cartridge. I've installed the new ink but remember the last time it asked me to do that I also had to installt he part that holds the cartridge and has that cuircut board as part of it. Only problem is the cost of $70.00 to do so.

Sorry guys and gals but I hate inkjet for the only reason that they nickel and dime you to death.

I find most current printers are dissposable anyway. My laser toner lasts longer but costs much more than my inkjets.

Every mall around here has an inkjet refill center. Refill the cartridge for less than half the cost of a new one. I've had mine refilled several times and it still works like new.

I used to just take the whole printer back about a month before the warrantee expired and tell them that it was broken.
