but when i go that route, i will weld everything myself. currently i have a welder that can weld with gas, or flux core wire. being i dont have a tank, i use the flux core. i dont like the quality or look of the welds, and am having a hard time getting a bead going. and yea its not just the welder. its me too, my welding skills need work.


but i was wondering if someone in the area had any old tanks they would part with. as shipping would be costly.

also i was open to suggestion for which shielding gas to use. argon, co2, helium, other? and does the gas i choose, decide a different type of tank?

Have ya checked with your local welding supply distributor???

im just looking for a cheaper option. and there is no gas for flux core. the flux is to replace the gas.

Yea, no gas for flux core. CO2 results in a hotter weld but you may be able to pick up a tank from a vending machine company for cheap. If you are going to buy a tank, get C25, it is Argon/CO2 mix. Aluminum would use pure argon. I bought a 60cf tank(no lease, own) of C25 for $175 I think it was. They aren't cheap but refills are only about $35.
