its only 3 to 5 and 3 to 5 tomorrow and fri, but the wind is supposed to stay above 20mph the whole time, and bitter cold. the drifting is fun. and its 2 degrees right now not counting the wind.

Nate I was expecting to see 2 feet...I guess you did not receive the lake effect blast.
Are you & kids skating on the pond now?
I wonder how much snow Justin & Mike got?

I ended up with about 4 or 5 inches on the ground. I live a bit far from the lake, so I don't always get big lake snow. I had enough to get the snowmobile out and tear it up.

I'm supposed to get a couple more inches tomorrow night, but I'm not really complaining. I'm more than equipped to handle a bit of snow.

weve been getting blasted by the cold more than anything else. ontop of that, i live in indiana. the land of the crappy plows. we got less than 4 inches the other day. it literally took 22 hours before anyone could safely do more than about 30 mph on the main roads. i live 30 miles from work. when i cant get my car out of second gear, my 30 minute commute turns into a 2 hour ordeal. its been a fun week to say the least. i realize its in the single digits, but drop the friggin plow man. when the major thoroughfares are skating rinks, that means you are not doing a good job! if michigan and illinois can get their roads cleared why cant we?

heres some after pics of my car after the 30 mile ride home after that 4" storm the other day.

thanks for listening to me rant. just sick of the indiana DOT. its consistently terrible. i guess if there is a plus side to all of this, its that im not driving my new car. its parked in the driveway. guess that makes this my "winter beater". lol.

on a side note, during that first storm i sold a helluva lot of wipers. the past few sub zero days ive installed 27 batteries. lol.

^ Nice Jason ..What fun!!
Ya it sucks when they cant seem to do roadway plowing and roads are left in terrible mess/shape.
Selling 27 batteries proves that no one charges or load tests their batteries in late fall.
Mother Nature'* really cold temps is sudden awareness of their lack of CCA

i just wish people would check their batteries before the single digit days. its really difficult to change batteries when you are being blasted by 2 degree 30mph snow. wipers just take a few seconds. batteries take awhile. lol.

plows and salt dont do much when its less than 10 or so. we had another day of super bad temps and bad wind friday on top of 5-10inches, school was closed again. the drifts were bad when its that cold too because of the fluffy snow. but i needed some stuff in town and the tires i got on the yukon BFG atko'* are awesome in crap conditions, always makes me smile when you see a bunch of people stuck everywhere and i dont even need 4wd. the only time i put it in was because i didnt feel like blowing the driveway in the miserable weather so there was like 24inches in front of the garage and probably 20 built up by the road from the plow. all the roads are that packed down snow and ice you get when its not warm enough for the salt to do anything.

I'm currently watching CNN, and the 2015 blizzard seems to have hit Boston hard with 2.5 feet of snow! I guess everything is closed there by orders. I want a snow day!
Who has been "impacted" by this storm? Would like to see some photos if possible please!
I bet there are some large snowmen being made right about now!

we only got a couple inches this time. it was bad this Saturday we were out shopping and getting supper. mainly because it was freezing rain for a while then started snowing and drifting, but the bonnie is a tank and if you take it slow she gets us home.
