I'm in IT but have never messed with a webcam. I'm looking for the easiest way to get one setup. Here'* what I want to do just for fun. Two former co-workers and myself get together each Tuesday and jam a little bit on our drums and guitars. We suck but we have a good time. I want to try to run a webcam for giggles.
He'* got a laptop at home that connects to his network wirelessly and that'* really our only option as far as a computer to run the webcam since we're in his basement away from any desktop computer.
Any tips would be appreciated--webcam programs, etc. Hit me with it all.

If you buy a decent webcam, they usually come with software to broadcast online. Set up the software first, then plug in your webcam.
try out some of these programs. I never used them, but I found them online for FREE
