All the time..but sometimes the information contained is wrong. It is best used as a rough estimate kind of info. But it is nice to see the "Zestimate" being more than what we are offering LOL

WAY off. The house I sold in Albany is a 1400 square foot with 3 bedrooms and a bonus loft.

They have it listed as a 2BR, 1142 square feet.

That site is an entire farse.

The only thing you can trust on that site is the sale amounts. Even that is nothing special to retreive. Sale amounts are public information that can be obtained from the assessor of all townships, cities, or villages in the United States.

As far as zestimates, those are a joke. They assume straight-line appreciation nationwide based on the cost of goods annual increase which is an ENORMOUS fallacy. Every market is different and just because COG went up, does NOT mean housing appreciated in the same manner.

Use with caution, to say the least.

A 10 year old appraisal report is hardly reliable. Appraisal reports are considered "old" or of "no use" after 30 days. The markets change very quickly.
