Warranty questions - '06 Maxx
Is it just me, or does "Bumper-to-bumper" really mean "only what we say is covered". :?
Tires, for instance. This car only has 24k on the clock. The tires are already in need of replacement...ALL OF THEM. "Oh, the warranty is only for manufacturing defects, not treadlife". Okay....well, I think needing new tires all the way around at 24k makes them defective. I KNOW there is a treadwear warranty on them too, at a prorate. To which he replies "Yeah, that'* for replacements under defective tires". WTF?!?!?
Also, on my chrome rims...there is discoloration on all the rims, where the chrome isn't shiny anymore. "Huh" he says. "Well, there is no advisory against it, and unless my general manager approves it, they won't be replaced."
And people wonder why GM is in trouble.
At least they fixed my remotes.

I thought 36k/3 Years was Bumper to Bumper..
Those tires are history at 24k too... Its sad how fast they have worn out.. The Tires that he put on the SSE are holding up way better and are just as good in terms of performance and ratings as compared to what came on the Maxx.. They are wearing a lot better as well.. And I think Brad has 15k on the SSE'* tires already..
And when I looked through some of the Paper work I don't even remember it talking about Tread Life, Just something after 12k miles.. This car isn't even 1.5 years old either..
I wonder How well GM will do with the New 100K Powertrain warranty

Update
The local dealer still didn't have an answer for me on the rims, so I told them to kiss off and made an appointment elsewhere for tomorrow morning. Now my steering is popping too...my previous Maxx did the same thing, and they had to replace the steering rack.
Those rims better be covered...I'll be one irate bandicoot if they aint.

Well....I'm semi-irate.
They fixed the steering as per a TSB. The rims, in their opinion, do not warrant replacement. Seems chrome fading is not considered a manufacturers defect
Which really isn't THAT big of a deal. I'm gonna go with 18'* I think, if I can find some that I like.
