want your opinion if this happened to you
here is the short story I ordered some things and it got shipped to the wrong address. well the ppl at the address are well I will just say prolly not the smartest ppl around. They opened my package and threw away the box. I got the stuf that came but should I involve the police because it is a federal offense to open someone elses things. Did you know that as long as there is a signature in the block Fedex will deliver the package even if it is the wrong person and they charge an extra 5 dollars just to make sure you are you. In my opinion that policy is BS. just looking for some feedback

It wasn't right for them to open your package but if this is the worst thing that ever happens to you, you're really doing pretty well. If you don't believe there was some sort of malicious intent, I'd just let it go.

Yeah, those people shouldn't have opened your stuff. But it sounds like they did forward it to you after all...you gonna reward that by calling the cops on 'em?

no they did not forward or go to the store that of the product to say this came with the wrong adress. They DIDN'T do a Dang thing just opened it and left it in the apt didn't try to find the right owner or anyting. They could have turned around and sold it on ebay and been pure profit for them. I was the only one that went looking for it not the other way around. I was told it would bee here thursday at the latest and when it wasn't here I started asking questions. I finally was able to get a tracking #and had to do it all my self there was no them trying at all

calling the police on them doesn't sound like a good idea after the fact, but yes, that doesn't make it right. you do not open other people'* mail. period. not sure how to prevent that except hope it doesn't happen again.
this has happened to me. they sent my latest laptop to my neighbor'* address under my name, they know me, and my full name, yet they still opened it, ohhh, pissed didn't cover it, they were saying at first "oh we were just curious" then that changed into "oh we didn't notice your name" idiots. Yeah, I informed them if they ever open any of my packages again that they can expect to find a police officer at their front door faster than they can even organize an attempt to justify their actions.

You are obviously very upset about this and it is certainly understandable. Try to keep things in perspective. This wasn't right and it should never have happened. What'* worse is the effect it seems to be having on you. Ultimately everything you purchased you received. The bigger issue right now is whether or not you are going to let this eat you up inside, or move forward. It'* important to choose your battles. Ask yourself what will really be accomplished if you remain stressed over this or if you take further legal action. The chance of you seeing anything positive from either of these scenarios is virtually nill. Stress management is critical or things like this will eat at you your entire life. I can pretty much guarantee this is going to hurt you more than anyone else if you let it. Take a deep breath, understand it isn't right but move forward. Your best action is to take steps to ensure this won't happen again in the future. Talk with vendors about other shipping options to minimize the potential for a repeat incident.
