Wrong word as it'* not a virus but the redirects do have a malicious intent to gather user data. It'* not there by accident.

Sorry was using the first word of the thread as shorthand. Yes they are redirects, intentional albeit poorly implemented by IB, and not related to any virus as best as I can tell. We are awaiting response from IB right now.

So, no, they don't care about anyone here. They are more concerned with ad clicks.

I was fighting this battle with IB for many years before any of you came along.

I managed to contact IB and yes CC & Mike are correct.
IB stated "There is
no threat, just some of our ad-related software that monitors traffic behavior"

I said this before, and I'll say it again.

Internet Brands(the owner of this forum software) has the ability to read ALL private messages.

Let that sink in.

In the end, it'* just a big database. If they don't go out of their way to encrypt it (which I don't think they ever would), then it'* probably all just vanilla clear text records except for the pictures and attachments, and maybe passwords.

passwords are encrypted in the backend database. email addresses are also not protected. Matter of factly, I still have an email dump I did a couple years ago. PM'* are not. So they have(and I know the backdoor software addon) is installed at the admin level. My purchased version of vBulletin allows me to download same addon.

There are a couple forums out yonder that are NOT IB affiliated that host a plethora of addons. Just have to search for it.
