Default A Very Expensive Day

Well today was Activities Day here in our little town. It is the day that you can sign yourself and you kids up for various activities in town...hence the name Well I signed my kids up. Andrew for gymnastics and Jess for "Chicks with Sticks" Andrew'* was $170.00 and I had to pay for chocolate covered almonds (fundraising) and Jessica'* was $200.00. But we are lucky, Jessica still has all her equipment from Ringette, so the only thing we have to buy for her is a new stick, well a couple of new sticks...I know she is going to break on, the brute . And Andrew'* gymnastics only last until the end of November, then I have to sign him back up again.

The one thing that is good or bad, depending on how you look at it, all the events happen on the weekends. Unfortunately, Jessica'* practice is 11:45 PM-12:15 AM on Friday nights.... That is the only ice time they could get...the hockey teams have taken the rest

Okay I am done ranting

The hockey teams must have a strong lobby. The time is absurd.

I have to edit that a bit...it is 11:15-12:15. See here we only have one arena, and it is a fight at the beginning of each season to see who will get the good times. And unless you get to the meeting early enough, depending on how many members you have, you get the best ice times. Figure skating has the afternoon times, and BOYS and MENS hockey have the rest of the times.....yes it is a man'* world

Hockey...Canada...doesn't surprise me. Around here we have teams that travel an hour at 7 AM to get ice time because there is just NONE available in their town...it'* sick.

Expensive but well worth it Pmom. I too played Ringette as a kid and loved every minute of it and eventually moved on to boys hockey (Tomboy)... Great experience and memories to last a life time. Go get em Andrew and Jess....

Wow, the time thing is strange. When I was 14 I would go rollerskating with my friends every Friday night and it ended at midnight. Our parents would take turns taking us and picking us up. When I turned 16 and got my license I turned in my skates and never looked back.
