Default verizon cell phone question

hey everyone,
i had a question on my cell phone and thought of no place but BC to ask.

I got in on the razr hype about 2 years ago january. (personally theyre over rated)
The phone clip they made sucks because it breaks every 6 months, well today the phone fell out of the clip and took a nice dive on the kitchen floor and the outside screen is cracked. Looks really cool too, but totaly useless.

My plan is renewed in january with them for the New every 2 contract. Do you think if i take the phone over and say what happened...they might help me out early? No, i didnt buy insurance on it..the next phone i may or may not, ill weigh it.

ill wait a few days to go over to verizon and see what you all say
its like one big family in this club. ( i do alot of searching and read some of the funny stuff)

thanks

I dont know what the policies at Verizon are, but with Alltel we can upgrade our phones if we are within 3 mos of our contract exp. date. I've only had to pay full price for a phone once since 2001. The insurance is worh it if you are clumsy with your phone like my kids and wife are. I've got it on my phone this time because I bought such an expensive one this time I was scared of the cost if I had an accident.

verizon let me upgrade jsut over a year into my 2 yr cont and gave me the 2yr price on the new phone.

call #611, hit zero, and ask for "tele-sales". they found a discount available thru my work (worth checkin out) and knocked off an extra 10 buck off the phone too.

I've never had an issus with Verizon'* plastic clip/holster for the Razr. been using the same one for about 2 years.

But, tell them your story. The worst that could happen is they say no. But I doubt it

sometimes they will charge you a small fee for an early upgrade penalty...

My mom has Verizon and they would not let her upgrade her phone until her contract was up. But, there was nothing wrong with hers either.
She didn't really try to push the issue either, maybe talking to a manager would have gotten her better results. :?:
Either way, good luck. Let us know how you make out.

i have noticed that some of the cust service reps are straight "follow the book" type. when i get them, i just say ok, thank you and hang up. then call right back and explain my situation to another rep, never taken more than a 2nd call.(so far)

I have done stuff like that too. Usually works. Or, when all else fails, ask for a supervisor.

If the phone still takes calls, get the insurance on it, it usually takes three days to process,(they also call to make sure the phone'* working), after 4 or 5 days, call in and use an insurance claim.
