I gave a vote to the Dodge Caravan, a guy that I work with has the sport version and it looks pretty sharp. His is black with black leather and tints. The roof rack gets used in his family, so it was justified.
It has decent power, but I find it to be a little pricey.
But thats just me, my second choice would be the Venture for sure

My roommates family has two of the new toyota minivans and they love them. The older one makes 205 hp and the new one makes 210. M roommate had the older one up to 100 mph on a dirt road out in the desert once.

I also own a 1988 GMC Safari, you can't beat them for towing. They wear like iron and have been around forever. They have more torque than any other minivan motor. The only thing is their height entry, since they can tow 2.5 tons they can ride kinda bouncy like a *-10 unloaded with no weight, and it is rear wheel drive with all wheel drive optional. They also can get kinda pricey.

Although I am not a big fan of Ford products, the wifes 95 Windstar LE with a 3.8L V-6 has got 240,000k on it...runs great and has lots of power! Body is mint also as she had rust protect on it. 4 captains and spacious interior. Only thing broken is the rear wiper motor.... for a dependable and fast van....my vote Windstar
(can't believe I voted for a Ford )

I vote for the GMC Safari (which is the same as the Chevy Astro) for two reasons; It is built on a truck chassis (unlike all the other options that are basically BIG cars) and it has the 4.3 for towing capacity. Yes it is RWD standard--but if they were considering AWD, it is the way to go. My second choice would be the Montana (which is the same as the Venture). They are very reliable. The Montana has seating for 8 or 7 (8 being optional) whereas the venture only has seating for 7.
The Safari looks better than the Astro, and the Montana looks better than the Venture, but all four are great vans.
