The world is stupid. Just look at smart cars. How stupid do you have to be to climb in one of those. Look, I'm saving the planet, how, when I'm killed in a car crash because I hit a June bug they can use me as fertilizer.

Automobiles aren't creating the shortage, and that'* a US born propaganda. Third world demand for Oil for Manufacturing and Heat is causing the Crises. Thier interest isn't about driving a car. It'* still down in the mire of making enough to eat and not freezing to death. The Media and we Americans are so "Us" oriented. And guess what? "We" are a drop in the Global Bucket. We keep thinking about "We" and the Hordes that outnumber Us by Multiples are banging at our door. And the bangs will become explosions. The days of thinking for oursleves and having a Defense that allows us to ignore the rest of the world are gone. And if we don't rethink and embrace that, it will be our ruin.

China is the problem. big country, huge population, and they want what we have. Bush is not the problem, he has no control over the price of oil, none what so ever. It'* the world market. But people will still believe what the press prints.

Where are you and what are you doing Brian? LOL! You really need to get off the Forum with the Network news going in the background once in awhile.

South Korea + GE have become THE Nuclear builder around the Globe. And nuclear is talking hold across the world while we sit here and listen to Policrats waving "Green" in our face to fleece our pockets further. Arab nations sitting on all the oil? Going nuclear. China? 8 times present nuclear output planned. Canada? Quietly going further and further nuclear. And all the Countries in the links listed below. Our US companies, media, lobbyists, and politicians want to tap our wallets as deep as they can before we realize what the rest of the world is doing. Green, Al Gore, Environmentalists, and other technologies have not only failed to prove they can work, let alone work in the 3-5 years we have before **** really hits the fans. You haven't heard? I believe it. But don't believe me, read some of what I have been reading below. I don't get TV and have no use for it. Broadcast TV doesn't come in here, I dropped cable a couple years ago, and I'm only better for it.

Ok I know about Nuclear as a power source and what has been happening around the world but my question is more how does that help reduce the dependency on oil? I can't think of anything currently run off of oil that nuclear could replace.

We ourselves use 20% percent of our oil for other than gasoline, diesel, aviation, and lubricant purposes. Heating mainly and a very small portion still for energy related production. And that percentage grows outside of the United States. And when you get to China and more so 3rd world countries that percentage becomes the predominate one. We are talking about much smaller percentages in shortfalls that can cause total global unrest. I am not advocating throwing all other forms of Technology off the table or not moving away from gasoline as the prime source for transportation. But enough nuclear energy can be brought online in the next few years to actually to avert catastrophe and buy us time to resolve the other Technologies available. Other Countries see it and are reacting, and time is critical as our own Military is now trying to tell us.

BTW, Guns..... Great Topic to Post. I live for this stuff to be discussed/argued.
