Enforcing the law in a combat zone.
You could tell, tho, that whatever show that was an excerpt from, is severely anti-US by the sound of the narrators voice. They won't show all the deliveries of food and medical supplies, the school we built that the kid should have been at instead of looting with his family, etc., etc.......

mild rant
Read the anti-American, anti-Bush, anti-war comments below the video. There are two sides to every story. All we get here is the "I hate the USA" side. Whether you support the war or Bush or not, this is a lop-sided story. Someone commented that this was a "Frontline" report and they are accurate and honest because they're PBS. More like TBS (Total BS) - there isn't a news organization anywhere that doesn't carry some sort of bias and won't "extrapolate" (read: make up) "facts" if they can't get the whole story. Nor will they tell the whole story. Another fellow went as far as to say he wanted to move here until he found out what a bunch of A-holes we are and now he'* glad he didn't. So am I.
My point is never, EVER take anything from media (TV, radio, internet!) at face value. Do your own research before drawing any conclusions.

Ahh. I feel better.

Thats an old clip from back around 2004 so dont think it goes on much now, although being in the state of affairs we are today, I hit a couple of cars with my ASV or an 1114. What most people dont understand is that vehicles not moving here presents a real and common threat for soldiers called VBIEDs[Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Devices]. Common responses include tanks running over, EOD blowing them up, Infantry Hitting it with small arms fire. Granted that was an example of looting, the end result is the same. Thankfully no one died in that incident. But like others have said, until you fully understand the motive, and what is going on in the area, i wouldnt be so quick to chime in.
