More than my fairshare.....trust me....

Besides, softwares a lot harder than hardware. Plus Win2K is an exploit.

Well yes software is a lot more complicated in Windows, for some people its worse though. Ive been doing c++ for 2 yrs now so if i do not like the way something works, I write a small app to do what I want it to do.

Linux is a snap for me. If i could get more stuff compatible with Linux, I wouldnt even use windows anymore. Win XP is an exploit bud. 2K has most of the major updates, but still some underlying vulnerabilities.

Our other machines and the ones at work haven't had any problems with any exploits on XP....Yet....who know'* though. With knowledge like that....get a programming job...you could buy auroura after auroura with a job like that.

Machine you put together yourself > Alienware
i agree id rather build my own any day that pay for an overpriced Alienware machine, i bet i could build the exact machine you have for a lot cheaper than you paid for it, heck the machine i have now might be better than it, post your specs...Alienware is just a name, theres nothing special about them, except the fact they charge too much, did it come with some ointment or soothing balm for the new one you got ripped? thats the least they could do...and besides theres nothing like building your own machine, a lot of pride in it.

RentACoder... : When i graduate HS next year i am going to college right after so full-time would be a little tough to pull off. Actually for me, impossible because i like to party and go out with girls a lot.

Im gonna scan in the spec sheet that i got when my ALienware came. Its too late right now.

you mean you dont know whats in it without looking at the spec sheet?....thats a little odd for a computer nerd...but ok, its probably better than mine, but i only spent 8-900 on mine

AMD Athlon 64 +3000 Venice Core
MSI K8N Neo-F motherboard
1GB Corsair ValueSelect Memory 2x512 in Dual-Channel
Western Digital 80GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
Gigabyte ATI Radeon X800XL
Aspire Chameleon 550watt power supply
optical drives, cheap case, fans yada yada.

and i apologize for being slightly off topic, i do hope our faithful admins jobs isnt in any danger, that would definetely suck for him, not too mention his kids, and his dog.....and the various racoons around the house

No i just did not feel like tpying atm. I have red blistered hands from driving a lawn tractor all day on a 3 acre yard i just cut for someone. And they hurt.

I will post some now. I wont go to detailed.

Intel P4 CPU 650HT 3.4 2MB
intel 955x pci express mobo
2GB DC DDR2533
480 watt ps
(1) 74gig 10krpm raptor and one 250gig sata 7200rpm raid 0
Nvidia 6800 ultra x16
sb audigy 2 zs
xp pro

They arent the original specs either. I ebayed the old CPU and swapped it for the 2mb cache with an updated board.
