Default Turned the S10 over to my youngest

Turned the S10 over to my youngest Son. I travel a lot for work, and can be gone without notice for six months or more, so I wanted to do all I could to ensure the S10 would be reliable while I am gone. These are high trouble vehicles, but if one is proactive they are actually great vehicles.

In the past 45 days I have done the following to the S10:
replaced
LIM gasket
plugs
wires
distributer cap
MAF
water pump
upper and lower radiator hoses
heater hoses
radiator cap
thermostat

Flushed
front transaxle
transmission
radiator (including heater core)
oil (4 times in less than 100 miles-trying to make sure oil foreign material out of engine from LIM replacement)
transfer case

Lubed all 11 front end zerk joints (hard to do- this is why these front ends fail)

Did a Seafoam through the manifold flush

Still need to:
flush rear end
flush brake fluid
flush power steering fluid
inspect rear brakes
consider replacing ball joints- they seem ok, but S10 is at 150k miles and they usually fail under 100k, maybe prior owner lubed them....

I also removed and scrubbed all three undercarriage plates, the one under the engine was super bad from the coolant mixing with oil and then collecting on this pan,

Sounds like quite the project, but I'm sure he will appreciate it. How old is he, and why isn't he on here showing it off?

YMMO,

He is very, very modest young man, he doesn't show or talk about himself ever. He had a bike accident with me a day before I left for Afghanistan in 2002 where he fracture his jaw, broke his arm and screwed up his teeth. He has never been the same since.

I hope he does become a member of a forum like this. He just got his first job, actually I got it for him. He applied at a half dozen places and not a call back. I decided to go to a local paint shop, and offer the owner a loyal and honest young man on Saturdays as an unpaid internship. The owner took me up on it. He loves going there on Saturday, and I am glad he is getting some work expereince. Times have changed. When I was his age we all had work everywhere. I worked full time in high school (on the work program) and then delivered pizza at night. Today, unemployed educated men with masters degree often deliver pizza. Oh well.....

Nice truck. And a lot of work. Nothing like a reliable truck.
