Hey Everyone

I have some bad news to report. A good friend and co-worker of mine was tragically killed on Sunday Jan 19, in a single car collision close to my home here in Mississauga.

He was driving home from dinner being followed by another friend of ours, in his brand new red 99 Pontiac Sunfire GT, when he lost control of his vehicle, jumped the curb and hit a concrete light standard on the drivers side. Initial reports indicated that cold weather and slick road conditions were to blame.

James Patrick Bolk, 25, better known as Jim to all of us, was a fan of Bonnevilleclub and whenever he passed my desk at work, he was the always intrigued by the fellowship of this online community and hoped to become a member of a Sunfire forum, once he found one. Jokingly, he used to accuse me of never getting any work done because of BC....

I would very much appreciate the members of this forum to post there condolences to the Bolk family and his friends. The loss of their youngest son and our good friend is to tragic for anyone to bear.

I beg you, please remember to drive carefully, safely and smartly during these bitter winter months: sand, salt, ice, snow, freezing rain, wind..... once false move, one lapse in attention and the consequneces can be devastating.

Jim can now freely drive that beloved Sunfire GT in God'* good graces and make rice look silly up in heaven....

You're friends miss you Jimmy...rest in peace.

Both Tamara and I ( Murdock ) both give our deepest condolence to the family and in hopes that are will be wary of winter driving as I too had a close encounter in winter time with nature ( 3 foot of ice water and thankfully missin 2 trees ). Leave the speed fury up to summer in a well un used street so if you want to be a looser you're not jeapordizing the public. We are saden by the lost of a fellow Pontiac owner, and death is a release.. not a punishment ( except to the ones they have touched ). I hope we all here will show the support to a fallen Pontiac comrade. May he rest in peace and race well in the open skies above ( and kick some Rice butt )

I, too, would like to send my condolences to the friends and family of James. It saddens me any time someone needlessly dies--regardless of how. This is yet another reminder of our mortality--in a time when most of us feel all but invinceable, let us remember to drive carefully in all conditions and at all times.

To James' family: I can empathize with you, as I lost one family member and nearly lost another in an automobile accident a few years ago. My thoughts and prayers go out to you in this trying time.

To James' friends: Although the void he leaves in your lives will never be replaced, you may keep the fond memories alive for ever. Don't forget what he meant to you, and in doing so, you will be keeping a part of him alive in your hearts.

To the rest of us: Be careful, stay safe, and keep the rubber side down.
