Today, July 30, 2003. Toronto entered the record books by hosting the largest single day outdoor concert event ever in North America. Right now over 500 000 people are taking in a once in a lifetime concert event. Its amazing. I couldn't go, but...well, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Sam Roberts got the show going

3500 Port-A-Poopers

Hopefully tomorrow some pictures from helicopters will show us exactly what it was like from up above. On TV, half a millions people look like a giant ant colony.
Staggering

2:00 pm - 2:15 pm La Chicane
2:30 pm - 2:45 pm The Tea Party
3:00 pm - 3:15 pm The Flaming Lips
3:30 pm - 3:45 pm Sass Jordan and Jeff Healey
4:00 pm - 4:20 pm The Isley Brothers

5:05 pm - 5:20 pm Jim Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Have Love Will Travel Revue
5:40 pm - 6:00 pm Justin Timberlake
6:20 pm - 6:45 pm The Guess Who
7:10 pm - 7:45 pm Rush
8:10 pm - 9:10 pm AC/DC
9:45 pm - 11:15 pm Rolling Stones
All for $21 dollars and all to re-introduce the world to the best city in the world Toronto!!. Bad press from SARS drove people away and stained the reputation of this amazing city of ours. It was also cool to see members of government in front of giant BBQ cookin up Western Canadian beef. One cow shows a trace of mad cow disease and the world, esp the US blacklists us. This event was a slam in your face "take that"!!! to the rest of the world and to show how cool T.O. can be.
Whadda cool day, wish I could have been a part of it.

Dame..I take it you know the Rolling Stones?? The Tea Party is a great rock band, Justin Timberlake..well, he had his way with Britney...Sam Roberts is a great new alternative Canadian soloist and of course AC/DC who just finished their set.
What I want to know is how on earth 500 000 people are going to get home, all roads in a 5 mille (8 km) radius are closed and public transit can only handle 50 000 an hour, its a whole other day to get home

I live about 25 mins away from where this took place, but still didn't go down, wouldn't want to have to deal with the crowds.
