I feel your pain Tracy. Its been a steady 90 here to, and practically no houses here have A/C, lotsa fans, shades, and open windows.
My grandparents have AC in there house, so I tend to drift over there more often when its 90-100 out to BS with my grandpa for a few hours.

The guys showed up. Checked the unit for any leaks. Couldn't find anything but is sure there is a very small leak somewhere. They recharged it and will come back in a few days to put some stop leak in and see if that does the trick. If not I will have to buy a new unit for about $1500 I will have to start saving now and pray that this recharge gets me through this summer. I have a feeling I will need the new unit sooner than I hoped for. I've been doing this recharge thing once a year for the past 3 years and I've never quite had the money to replace the unit.
I'll just keep praying and try to sell some stuff on Ebay and save, save, save.

A bit late and a dollar short, but This site helped me diagnose my AC issue.
http://arnoldservice.com/air_conditioning_parts.htm
Scroll down for a Q/A section.
My contactor still acts up and the unit blows warm air occasionally. All I do is remove the cover plate on the unit and press the contactor to get the compressor going.
I know it'* not the same issue, but take it for what its worth
