It is time to come out and say this......(BMW)

disadvange of selling a car on the club (cough) haro (cough) as sometimes the buyer has more problems than they bargined for. Hopefully it will work out for you.

At least with the 92 you can read the codes with a paperclip even though its slower.

so how much did you put into the beamer total after all repairs and after you made 600 bucks selling it? how much money was blown in the past few months?
SHHH! (don't want the new owner to know, even though he won't) But I only put about 100 bucks into it, so it was pretty much a no money loss, maybe like 5 bucks.

I was thinking you'd have to throw in the towel on that BMW. I didn't want to down you, but fixing those rusted out rocker panels alone would've been a MAJOR undertaking. Probably at least 4-5 hours each side just to cut out the bad and replace with good metal, and that'* assuming they didn't find more rot. Once a Bimmer starts to rust, it'* a parts car, unless you own a body shop.
Just think of it as building character, just like hiking for hours in the rain.

Yeah, it really just wasn't worth it, since parts are so costly. i would honestly have to say that buying it was THE biggest mistake I ever made, and I will NEVER stray away from GM again. And the guy thats buying it is beefing up the suspension and making it a track car, so hes not gonna worry about the rust I guess.

It wasn't a bad car because it was non-GM, it was a bad car because it wasn't accurately assesed as a used car.

Reliability of used cars is more and more based on previous owners then the manufacturer the older they get. There are bonneville lemons just like BMW lemons.

I'd still trade in my 04 Sebring for a 95 M3. Nothing wrong with Beamers! Looks like you happened to get the wrong one... ?

Glad you sold it!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I am so pissed, he called me back and offered me a lowball offer of $300! He must have thought that I didn't know what the car is worth, since I don't know much about them.
