Default Things you hate about the G8

1. No HID Lighting Option (according to the site)

2. No rear heated seat option
3. No Manual Trans Option
4. No HUD
5. $35,000+ Price tag with the options a normal SSEi/GXP has.
6. GT and regular version look the same 95%....they should seperate the v8 more from the v6.
7. No pamoramic roof option (aka G6)

I guess when they come to the dealer next month (they say they are getting one for potential owners to test drive, not to sell) , and after I test drive one I will have more complaints.

There is a lot that I like about them though, but a lot that I dont....If they are reliable and mods become available I may get one in a few years once they drop under $20,000

Manny should be available for 09, without DOD.
I can't imagine them not going for one more trim level so watch for an announcement for a GXP for 09, as well, probably with a LS6.

And you know that Mallet and Lingenfelter will weigh in at some point with LS7 conversions, and turbo- and TT-LS7 models...

The manual tranny will come out about 6 months after the debut. Apparently there was a shortage of new transmissions to go around, so GM just set the 6-speed release date back.
As for the same options as a GXP, what was the sticker for the GXP with the same options? I really don't see how that car'* price can be that far off of what the G8 GT will be.
As for the HID, HUD and rear heated seats, whoopty do. How much will that improve the driving experience of the car? Minimal at best.

By the sounds of it, you have not even giving the car a chance before you've even laid eyes on one. Let alone driven one.

$35k will be about max for the G8.

I want more interior color options. Black or Black with red seat inserts doesn't cut it.

I want the high wing.

Agreed, there should be more distinction between the Base and GT.

All the wheel choices suck.

And I want my HUD.

Don't jump on him too hard there Puddin. I, too am disappointed by lack of HUD and HID, as well as the tamer fenders and somewhat pedestrian grille. However, just look at the GTO...

BTW, I think if they DO do a GXXP version, it will have the concept'* wilder body touches restored to it.

It just makes no sense to me why you would write off a car that you have yet to even drive. As you said with the GTO, the looks may seem a bit pedestrian, but its got it where it matters. The G8 may have that and more. I honestly believe that if the car has a good exhaust growl and a good suspension under it, all the gripes with the options (or lack of) will all wither away.

1. Yeah, but GM isn't getting HID on a lot of cars yet, yet it'* standard on my mid 20k VW...
2. Heated rear seats? This isn't an *-class...
3. There will be a manual within a year or two
4. HUD isn't the best thing under the sun... Some people will miss it, but if someone'* not buying this car because of the HUD.
5. The SSEi/GXP was well into the 30'* price range when it was out, and it wasn't even close to being a class leader in performance, or quality.

It'll be reliable, it'* the Gen IV or V architecture in the V8, and a proven v6 engine. GXP wont have an LS6 as it'* no longer produced by GM, it'll most likely be a verson of the LS3 with 430ish HP in the '08 Vette. The Vette always gets the engine before the other cars (F Body, GTO, etc)

It'* a much more upscale interior, much better performer, and costs the same... It'* not a direct replacement for the Bonneville, it'* a new direction for Pontiac.
