Things may be getting better.
Well some of you may know that in August I was forced to leave my job, then I did land another job, but getting paid half of what I used to. I had to resort to borrowing $$$ from my GF of only 2 months. Anyhow, today I got a call from someone I know and I have an interview on Friday. This is only round 1, but out of 150 applicants there are only 8 that get an interview.
Staring pay is pretty good, 6,000$ more a year than I am making now, but still below what I used to make. Plus there is room to move up in the company and many options as to what I may what to do, and even location in the Province and Country if I wanted. I know this may be a bit early to even mention it, but this is good news to me and just had to share with the family(BC).

Well basically I got a call on my cell phone, so I took a break and called him back, and talked to him over the phone while trying to not let anyone know what I was talking about. His words were " over the phone with you is fine, but at least come in Friday so people see you came in". So Friday is not really an "interview" but more of a technicality. We then setup a meeting with someone else for the final word. Btu at least Friday I get a better idea of what my chances are at landing this job, and he will tell me straight out since I know him.

Congrats on the new job!! You'll get it. That call came to you for a reason and I believe that you will get the job. Good luck on Friday and remember, first impressions really make or break an interview

I don't have the job yet but I do get a good feeling about this. All I can do is hope I can impress the regional person that is coming to the second meeting at a yet to be determined date and time.
