To be honest the only thing that pissed me off was the trim piece. That is going to be a pain shelling out the money for that. . Oh well on the bright side they were nice enough not to break anything.

That really bites! I hate scumbags like that who have no respect for other peoples' property.

Did you have the faceplate on the HU? (probably a stupid question)

Nah all someone needs is a lock out kit

Instructions for opening American Cars including: American Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and General Motors.
I was told those were illegal unless you were an authorized locksmith. I have a set to unlock house locks and it might work on some older model cars. I kept it in my car in case I locked myself out of the house. But when I was told I could get into trouble if I got caught carrying something like that I put it up in the house.

I hate a damned thief too!! I had a $400 stereo taken from my Monte Carlo I had several years ago. I had only had the stereo for about 6 months and someone broke into my car in Joliet and took it.

if you know what you are doing and have a stiff wire, you can break into almost any car w/o that kit. so they are definately not limited to that. With 2 people you could open almost any door with any longer stiff object.

If you are meaning Joliet, IL (idk if there is any other joliet'*..) yeah, almost any area in that city/town is bad news. It'd be funny when they stole my HU though.. my cd player doesn't eject the cd..faceplate sticks shut

If you have power locks then any thing stron enough to press the button will do.
Last year I locked my keys in, called triple A. He pulled out a rod, stuck it thru the corner of the door and popped the locks. Total was maybe 15 seconds.
I'm glad I never put anything worth $$$ in there.

That sucks...
Piece of advice, NEVER leave a satellite receiver in the car. Theives love them because they're easy to steal, just grab and go. If they get a day or two of listening before it shuts off, well, that'* worth it to them. F*ckers
