Mean? So what you lost a 50 round cake or something. Would you rahter have him wait for it to finish going off then hand you a 100 dollar fine? Hell I enjoy illegal fireworks as much as the next guy but when a cop comes back to a house for a noise complaint they have to do something or they appear useless.

He did what he had to do. It'* not mean. If it'* illegal, it'* illegal. Breaking the law is the same as breaking any other law, you face the consequence.

Just be glad you don't live in Ohio, especially in my town, you set fireworks off, you get a warning on the first offense, 2nd offense is a $500 fine and confiscation of fireworks, 3rd offense is $1000 and confiscation of fireworks, and any further involves jailtime. There have been WAY too many careless people here, and it had to be taken care of. I am all for the law, along with the most of my town.

Yessir. Especially when 3 houses in the neighboring town burned down due to careless use of fireworks.

You need to find a freind in Warren ( Southend Prefferably). We fire off 6 and 10 inch mortors till around midnight, and if the cops show up, they usually sit in there cars for a lil while and watch then drive away. Sterling Whites are a bunch of over paid uptights that think there an upper class city.

There is one cop here where I live that is very strict. He has pulled me over 3 times for no helmet, 1 time becausehe thought I stole the grille from an F-150 (I had it on the front of my bike), one time for inflating tires at an abandoned auto shop, and here is the funniest one, he pulled me over for reckless biking

Quite frankly, the fireworks laws in Ohio are downright stupid. They can literally give you a ticket for letting your kids play with Bang-Snaps. They're completely unlimited. Besides which, those laws were written back when fireworks had no quality standards. The laws on fireworks quality have tightened standards to the point where an ealry fire, or an overfill are rare, so long as you follow common-sense precautions.
There-in lays the problem. People don't excercise their own common-sense and self-control. I personally don't think we should pass laws to protect people from their own stupidity, though. Yet another example of the politically correct, safety oriented society, taking away people'* rights because someone else was too stupid to read and bey simple instructions.
