Last night my mechanic buddy and I were finishing a motor swap in a 96 Caddy Eldo. Northstar.
Both tired from working late nights to swap it out. Turn the key and it almost started. Then just cranking. Quick check, fuel at rail and spark at cylinders. No injector pulse.
This swap was with a full motor/trans/pcm and wiring harness the customer supplied.
Mechanic buddy says.. "Computer?" After a minute I pulled the key out, smiled at the pellet resistor and holler that I knew the issue, yep....computer.
Swapped the PCM. This ensured the resistor value of our key matched the expected value in the PCM. Less than one revolution and it fired right up.
Thanks for the knowledge about Vats
I love it here.

I can say most definitely that I have very much knowledge that I gained from here.
Plus, as a great benefit, I've met a bunch of friends I didn't have before.
You could say it opened a whole new world for me.
