Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

Thank you

I agree, I visit a few Jeep forums for info on my TJ or other jeep related things, but none of the ones I've found come close to what I've found here.
Most of the Jeep people I've met in person are nice, I still remember when we first started figuring out the "Jeep wave". But get them in a forum and watch out.

I belong to a ranger forum or two, in addition to BC. I am of the opinion that forums have a general "personality", much like a town/region/business might have a "personality". BC continues to offer a very helpful tone, underlied by a fun-loving humor, that makes me feel comfortable and welcome.

Not all forums offer that. Some forum members get tired of answering the same questions over and over for new members and will flame the next one who asks, completely forgeting that once they were new here and didn't know squat. I've seen huge arguments, with threats, etc. go on and on, unchecked by forum moderators. It'* upsetting to see...

I've found that many people are not that familiar with all the capablilities of their computer and are happy they can successfully get ON a forum. Many have no real idea how to create a successful search. The best way to help these people to is lead them and show them the results of searches.

In addition, I've noticed that most of the moderators here at BC are very active on the boards themselves. This is a plus to me, and may be part of why the atmosphere is positive.

My 9 cents.....
