Default Testing the new camera (56K so-so)

Here is a bit of a background. I just recently bought ( a few days ago) a Canon S3 IS( as some may have read in a previous topic). Previous to that I had a Sony cyber-shot 3.2 MP. I decided I wanted something a bit better to play with. I am unsure if I want to start taking pictures as a hobby or not. So on the weekend I took the opportunity to try out my new toy, considering I was still out of town for work. Below are the pics and I reduced in size for ease of viewing, and to be a bit more friendly to the 56kers.

Let me know what you think of my first shots.

I know I posted quite a few pics. I didn't retouch any of the pics except for reducing the size and putting my logo on it. I know I can enhance the color on a few of them, but I wanted to see what the camera itself can do, considering it is a P&*.

C&C are welcome, considering that is how I am going to learn.

I think they turned great but,I'm still just an amateur. I'm sure Sol would be the best for a critique

Yeah I am hoping he stops by. I am noticing a trend with my pics. I seem to like the macro shots, nice, up close and personal, lmfao.

It was a b-day gift I bought myself. Now to break it to he other half that I bought a "good" camera.

I "may" just have an out. She told me on the phone today( I am 6 hours from home), that she wants a better camera since hers is too small. I bought her a 100$ digital camera to start her off. So I will probably give her my Sony cyber-shot 3.2 mp, take her cheappie camera and use it for work, and I get to keep my new toy.

Couldn't you find something a bit more manly to take pictures of. I tested out my macro mode last night on a cologne bottle.

hehe, I was out of town, I seen color, and went, oh looky, color......snap. I stayed t a buddies house for the weekend and stopped by my cousins place, that is where most pics were taken. I did take some other macro shots. These may be more up your alley.

Fuel pressure gauge on a 2002 GAGT, he built a turbo setup, and all I can say is , that thing can MOVE.

The shot below is taken used super macro, the lens is actually against ( very carefully) the piece of the turbo.

Did I mention this camera has 12x optical zoom. I took this pic from about 40-50 feet away!

Nothing wrong with flowers, I have hundreds of flower macros or kinda macros. Plus the spiders even it out (eww).

those shots look awsome. What I would be interested in seeing is how well the camera does in high contrast pictures. For example, completely dark outside but taking pictures either into headlights or of their beam. I ask that because most cameras either way under or way over expose those pictures.
