Okay...I wish to revote. On my laptop with stock crappy speakers, I got up to 14..... came to work today with stock crappy external speakers on my workstation... I hit 22.
AND I could hear the two examples of the ring tone as well... so HA! See...I'm not as old as I thought...Okay...maybe I am but my hearing is not...

I could hear up to 25k.

I'm 18 and have great hearing. On the other hand, my Dad could only hear up to 16k and he is 40, but mind ya, he'* a CNC Machinist and is around machines all day.

I can hear it all! No wait... I lied..... I can't hear the 15hz(not Khz). Methinks me speakers don't play that low.

My dad is 65 and was in the Air Force and worked as an electrition on bombers WITH the engines running. Needless to say he couldn't hear even 8000. I couldn't hear more than 16000 and am 22.

that is because the human hearing range starts at about 30hz.

I think this is a crappy thing, because its will depend 110% on the speakers that peaple are using. I would be willing to bet that what a lot of people hear as their "highest" is actually the highest that their speakers can handle before it becomes inaudible.
