A fast car is a fast car....but few are both fast and luxurious. I like my Bonneville for what it is--total sleeper. The GTP is a formitable car as well, tuned for the performance minded. There is nothing wrong with them, so long as you like them.

Hang on a second. You guys talk like it's a 12 second car stock and the Bonneville is like 19 seconds stock.

0-60: 6.8
1/4 Mile: 15.1

2000 SSEi
0-60: 7.5
1/4 Mile: 15.8

.7 seconds is hardly worth going over board and calling it "really fast" and you know what..those times for an SSEi are rather slow. any other times for 95 or so SE are quite fast in comparisson.

95 SE
0-60: 7.1
1/4 mile: 15.4

Now we are down to .3 seconds of difference. Hardly worth this talk of one being slow and the other "really moving"...

Like what? Not starting anything just curoius i love SSEI's and would actually like to know what better luxury options they provide over the GTP.

I also believe those times to be off. any 97-03 GTP should see mid to high 14's in the 1/4 mile
Those times may be on a fresh engine. As far as i was aware GM motors don't see there best 1/4 mile times until they have been broken in...and im guessing those times were with brand new cars.

haha....no one said it's slow outright....but "my grand prix really moves" and is so fast is inarguably saying without direct statement "an ssei is slow to my grand prix"

Umm...my best friend has a 2000 GTP, and it runs quick 15's bone stock.

Definitly not trying to start anything, just mearly voicing my thoughts. As every car is different.
there are GTP's on our club that run 13.7 with just an intake and exhaust and 3.4
every car is different, every driver is different.

I'm hardly a GP expert, by obvious choice, but i've never heard of them doing those times consistantly. I've heard of the odd "freak" doing such...

Now we all know that we have to tread lightly when it comes to the Bonneville vs GP quasi rivalry. I am not saying either is slow, rather the suspension on a GP tends to be a little more sports tuned than a Bonneville. And this does not mean that the Bonneville cannot handle either! Lets not start this whole "this car is better than that car" debate. They are different. I prefer the Bonneville, others prefer the GP, and still others prefer the GA. Pontiac did an excellent job in catering to the needs of all performance minded enthusiast--even the tuners with the Sunbird offering. Don't make me dust off my gold stars! :wink:
