Tax season.
I've always used Turbo Tax in the past, except for last year. I went to a tax accountant because we had a lot of transactions in 05 and I wanted to be sure they were being declared correctly. Come to find out, he declared them the same way I would have with Turbo Tax. That cost me $450. I'll NEVER go to him again.
This year the prices on Turbo Tax sky-rocketed and there are no rebates being offered. So, I'll be trying Tax Cut for the first time.

Holy crap, $450!! I can't imagine a tax person getting you any more than using software unless you have some really complex stuff like owning a business. All the stuff including home owner itemization is very easy.

Thanks for the info Jim.

We don't own a business, but do have rental properties. In 05 we bought and sold some, so I wasn't 100% sure how to show report the gains since I sold it before the depreciation period closed.
