Are Neons that good on gas? I know ALL the automatic equiped cars dont have overdrive just reg 3 speed.

yeah i know they get usually like 35 for an auto...i was driving one...and i got about 44 mpg highway with the manual

I drove neons as rentals and they did not seem that great on gas too me. 30 mpg is pretty good specially for the dohc version.

Mine'* a particularly well-cared for one, and I'm careful to take care of regular maintenance. It'* relatively babied, since it'* an older car (161,000 miles as of this morning) and we'd like it to last as long as possible. I'm able to get the MPG of an SOHC, without the additional power loss. I realize that "power" and "Neon" don't belong in the same sentence, but there'* a major, noticeable difference between DOHC and SOHC.
