Default Stupid person of the day award goes to...

a kid at my old high school, he was changing a tire in auto class, and put a 16 inch tires on a 16.5 inch rim...he filled it up and and was walking to put it on the car and it blew up and threw him across the room and tore some of the skin off of his thigh. idiot

lesson of the day is, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE TIRE!

huh? a 16 inch rim is really 16.5. Theres a 1/2" extra thats not counted for the 'lip'.

Sounds more like he put 100psi in. Most tires are well under that. Either way, he'll get a few grand for his mistake.

i dunno

maybe it wasnt 16 inches, but i know it was the wrong size tire

i also doubt he put 100 psi in it, he may be an idiot but i know the kid well enough to know he was technically inclined not to put 100 psi in it

No, he is right, there are 16" and there are 16.5" wheels and tires. the half inch obviously is not the same.
