All I can say is that I expected to puke a Trans before the motor.... But at 161K I puked a motor.... I have driven it like I stole it from the time I bought it almost 10 years ago... 3800 FTW...
Dodge had had a lot of issues with that 2.7... I drove a few of the intrepids with low miles on them and was amazed at how gutless they actually were... I was all too happy to jump back into my 91 LE bonneville

When you floor it in the intrepid at redline it feels like half the power of the bonny and I hate it you can floor it from a dead stop and at most get a little wheel chirp. We used to have a Taurus with the 3.8 and even that could spin the tires way into first. And then dont get me started about the headlights. They are completely foogy and look like **%$
and they arent getting replaced i could care less if the thing gets totaled. The trans also sucks so atleast you only have one problem. Stupid thing loves to have a jerk between gears. I mean i am used to the smooth trans in the bonny but! Then it refuses to shift at times like in town if in a hurry to get up to 25 it stays in first at 4000 after you stop speeding up. Then i swear people love to damage it. it has key marks down both sides from hood to trunk and dents where people shove there doors open into it. And dont get me started yet once more on the rusting hood. I better stop. My blood pressure is going through the roof and im 16.
