hmm, Yeah I would say Dish Soap would be ok to use, but you HAVE to wax it throughly afterward.
I remember someone once asked me to wash their car with Dish Soap and I told them that it strips the wax, and they said, ah I don't need wax!
haha, RIIGHT....
When I got done, that car looked so DANG faded it was not even funny. They said I did a terrible job, and I said no. I didn't. This is what an unwaxed car looks like!

Your car will not be faded from 1 wash of dish soap
as MOS95B said it could be used in a pinch.
but not all the time.
it will never touch my car though.

You can use dish soap. Just don't make it a habit. It'* a good soap for getting a really dirty car clean. Actually the concern isn't even so much with the paint, but the plastics and rubber on the car.
Actually, faded is what an unpolished car looks like, not unwaxed. Wax will make the car more shiny and "wet" looking. The swirls and scratches in the clearcoat make it look faded because you aren't getting a "clear" look at the paint layer.

yeah.. if i could only post pics.. i'm not lucky enough to be an owner of a digital camera.. wait.. now that i think about it.. i don't think i even own a camera.. i'll see if my buddy won't let me use his this weekend.. and even better maybe i'll be able to take the ambers out of my lights.. one can only hope..

Dish soap will also remove the natual oils of the paint/clear coat.
The reason I do not suggest it is because you have no ability to control where it goes....I doubt you are going to take all the door trim off and throughly rinse under there, in all the door cracks, and under the spoiler.
