They're already tried... on more than one occasion, thus the shims that were placed between the joist and the subfloor.. I removed those in an attempt to try and fix it myself with no avail. I don't like not being able to figure something out. :(

well, they do have a ceramic drill bits to drill through the tile without cracking it.
you will need to find a fill of some sort to fill in the holes though.
or cover it with an area rug.

I don't know where it came from, but I found some baby powder.. It didn't do much except make me sneeze. I think the squeak got a little quieter, but it'* still there, and I'm still sneezing.

If the screws/braces did catch the joist the problem should have gone away.
try to tighten them again.

did anybody drill and screw right through the loose floor boards, to the joist?
when doing so .counter sink and then fill in with wood fill.

but go ahead and try the baby powder thing, be generious, and let us know what happened.
that was my first thought. We had to do that with our hardwood floors, it worked.

We got some squeaky floor at our house, too. Right in front of the bedroom and the bathroom. The bad part is, they are both right above the finished part of the basement, so I can't get to 'em.

At our old place, I did the drill down method to cure some squeaks (floors were much older and already pretty scarred up). Worked like a charm. But, instead of wood filler, I got some dowel and cut plugs from it.

No. I'm just getting tired of getting yelled at for "making all that noise" when I'm getting ready for work in the morning...
