Sonic Boom
I'm not sure if these are for real or not but they were cool looking so I'm passing them on!
A friend E-mailed these to us .
If you have ever wondered what a sonic
boom was, you are in luck. The pictures
below say it all.
For those who don't know, a sonic boom
is the bang you hear when a jet plane
breaks the sound barrier.
If you have never personally seen the
sound barrier, feast your eyes on the
pictures below.

This phenomenon only happens at the instant an
Aircraft breaks the sound barrier

And it literally appears like the aircraft goes through a wall.

It IS the sound barrier, but it has to be done in high-moisture conditions. Low altitude over the ocean, or over land in humid conditions.

that is pretty sweet to see...
there is an airbase about 10 miles away from my house so ever summer we have f15'* and such flying around the area.
I remember i was outside fooling around like 2 years ago, and had a jet sonic boom above my house, it was LOUD! I thought they weren't aloud to do it above residential areas, but i guess he decided he didn't care
