im impressed. sounds like a really good idea, and its nice to see at least the idea of a hybrid engine that can perform.

Remember this is only a concept....

given 5 years im sure they will develop new ways to power the electronics system.
and to me it looks more like a Malibu.

It'* about time GM got off the duffs and started doing good.

I don't think a company can rip-off their own body...

Why is it stupid, in theory (as far as I can tell) the gas motor works when other means of power generation can't keep up. The battery would never die because the gas motor would charge it. Even if the battery was dead, I think it would still work...kinda like starting a car, and pulling out the battery and having it just run on an alternator.

nvm at the first comment its just funny since it looks so much like the Camaro.

The gas motor doesnt kick in til 60+... therefore if you only drive 35 mph everywhere your batteries will never be charged...

You'd be suprised how they charge the batteries in them hybrids. One of the coolest methods is the brakes. If I remember correctly, each whell hub incorporates a small generator. Hit the brakes, the generator kicks in, and starts chrging the batteries. I even saw one system on the Discovery channel that finally made spinners make sense. A generator that stored kinetic energy while travelling. When stopped or slowed, the generqtor kept spinning, just like the spinner wheels, thereby charging the batteries. In theory, with enough developement, you could ditch the gas engine all together. Initially charge the batteries, and let the kinetic energy inherant in a vehicle keeo them charged...

Yeah, you are forgetting about regenerative braking. Not to mention, there is absolutely no reason the gas motor CANNOT come on below 60 MPH, I'm sure if it needs to it will.

Where does it say the gas engine doesn't kick on until 60mph?

It says that it kicks in AFTER you've been driving for more than 40 MILES. So if you drove a 75 mile trip, you would only be using gas for 35 miles of that trip.
