Growing up I've always watched The Price Is Right with Bob. I've dreamed of one day making the trek to Bakersfield, CA and staying up for 24+ straight to get in line and wait at 2 am. And about 2 1/2 weeks ago I turned 18. Now I'm seriously planning on going there in the near future (plane tickets and hotel would be $500-600 for 3-5 days) Drew Carey'* hosting now but its fun as hell.

Maybe someone wants to waste a few days and go sometime?

I stopped watching when Carey took over. He'* the worst replacement for Bob, he'* monotone, he seems like he doesn't put any energy into the show, and he makes the WORST jokes. Geez, get someone else besides a B-list comedian

the names are not chosen randomly. you are interviewed before you even get in and they pick the best people for the show. my roommates mom won the showcase showdown (sailboat, trip to Rome, etc...)

I'am aware of all the procedure stuff (golden-road.net) It'* just what method of travel and the cheapest closest hotel.

One of my classmates from my graduating class went on the show in 1999 and won a car. I have NFC what the procedure was to get on the show, however.

Go for it. A few friends of mine went a couple years ago and one of them won some junk.

I searched some rates and asked a few questions on the PiR fan site. Theres a hotel 2 blocks away that $60-70 a night. I can take a shuttle bus from South Beloit to Midway and go to Cali from there.
