iirc the 4.0 SOHC was good for 200-205 Hp and 250-260 Ft lbs..... For a Pretty good size truck the engine did a good job putting that sucker in motion.... And its hard to complain when it got 25 Mpg on the road with ease, and had no issues about passing when you mashed the happy pedal

.... Driver John will for sure like it.. Its even the right color

Nice Looking Truck...

And I thought all of the 95-99'* all had the AOD-E 4 Speed?

25mpg!?!?!?!?!? I would LOVE to see ours get that much... we get 22 MAX highway... 18-20 average according to the DIC

Yeah Ran around in a 99 for a bit and got 25 Mpgs out of it.. Took all of the country roads from Here East Central FL to Panama City... I was Floored.. It was 25 when I filled every time... But keep in mind it was all highway

I Actually liked the Explorer...

My dads 97 with the sohc was lucky to get over 20mpg on the highway and he drove from NY to NC at least once a month.

Another question... Is that 98 XLT a 4 wheel drive? Noticed you were going to be towing... Thought you may have a little fun like Driver John too? A little off roading maybe?

I wouldn't mind having one...
