First of all, spraying a cop will only make him mad and will probably get you some stick time to say the least. Red bulbs are a big no no. Blue lights usually mean (Can you please move out of my way) as Red lights usually mean (Get the **** out of my way). And I dont know why your bitching, you got off easy. Geeze

In most states you have to have a special permit card inorder to run those color lights (I have a blue light permit somewhere.) I am actually surprised you didn't get pulled over sooner for this. Consider yourself lucky and replace them.

Everyone has their reasons to vent on the topic. I used to work for US Customs at the border, and with talking to DPD, Wayne Cnty Sherriffs and State is that most of them dont really care but when they do is when people have flashing side markers or headlights that are like wig-wags. Not trying to cause any animosity amoungst the former, going to be, or current officers on the forum, how many times have you thought that a car with other than amber..ie; red, green[yes, conservations officers use green in michigan sometimes], orany other color though there was an emergency vehicle coming? State laws make it that any emergency vehicle with other than amber turns, has to have a flasher or strobe pack inside the light.
frankly, i have red in my far corners, but as for Mels, hers are pink and magenta, and I dont know of any department in the US or other countrys that Ive been in for that matter. that run pink or damn near purple lights. So just lay off her, its a lounge, let her vent, we've let others before.

in the coopersville cop defence they arent always ******. like during the summerfest we have a big car show and when its done they cops "look the other way" while all of the cars do burnouts up the hill towards the school. they do have a cop at the top of the hill just in case but i agree other then that they can be ****** about stupids stuff that isnt hurting anyone. but i do agree the law is the law and their just enforcing it but they do enforce it alittle to hard. and i know for a fact they arent honest cops cuz my wife was pulled over once and he tryed to get her to bribe him to get out of the ticket. he told her give me $80 and ill let u go with a warning!! well her did is a cop and she told him that and he just walked to his car and drove away she tryed getting his badge number but he walked away too fast.

He pulled you over for doing something that is illegal. Don't get mad at him for doing his job. I am always nice and polite and curious, and I've gotten out of tickets all 5 times I've been pulled over and most of them were for stuff I would've bet I wasn't going to get out of. If they think you are being completely honest with them then they tend to take it easier on you. Just my opinion. But consider yourself lucky for just getting a fix-it-ticket.
So if i drive in michigan i have to turn my neons off??
