so, he thinks he has the 6th amendment right, huh . . .
Yes, I definitely feel we should let mob mentality rule our court system, no more rights for the accused. We got a good ol' fashion lynch mob going here.
If someone'* life is at stake, I hope they take their precious time with a trial. If you haven't ever been on falsely accused of something, you can't possibly imagine the terror involved. I'm pretty sure no matter how long the trial goes, he'll meet the same eventual fate. So why the rush, it'* not like he'* going to be murdering anyone during the trial.

IMO,there should be no choice of the "style". Be it lethal injection or electric chair.
Either perform the execution in the manner of death OR give the accused over to the family and let them have their way
I've a question, why is this even in court? It (the article) said he already plead guilty, why didn't it go straight to sentencing?
Also, here in NY a child does not have to appear in court, her statement is considered absolute truth and unless you have concrete proof otherwise, everything you claim that is contrary will be deemed a lie.
I think Florida is the same way.

If he pleads guilty, he still needs to be made aware of all of his rights which he is waiving.
It'* scary to see how people feel the need to make exceptions to the rights we hold so dear. Why does this man get a trial? Because he deserves one, as does every other accused person, no matter how guilty or innocent. Unless someone here knows the people he killed, and knows for a fact he did it, it is shocking that you jump on a bandwagon of hearsay and evening news specials. Just think of how many times those have been false, and the consequences of the actions you desire.
There are no exceptions to civilization. You can't just allow public fervor to allow you to forget the distinguishing factor of a free country. If he'* guilty, he will be found guilty. If we feel he no longer has the right to live (which, in my opinion, isn't our place to decide), he will die. This thread reminds me of the publicized executions in Middle East countries. I guess we have more in common than I thought. Taking someone'* life is a solemn and powerful act, definitely not something that should be public or means for celebration. People here (not talking about BC) are too full of vengeance, which is not what the justice system is for.
Taking someone'* life (literally, and by means of a life sentence) is a very important decision. All the more reason for a FAIR trial. A speedy trial is just to make sure the accused isn't held for an unreasonable amount of time awaiting trial.
Don't take what I say too seriously, it'* all my opinion.
I can honestly say that if some monster touched my children in any way, they would die, no questions asked, they would die. Either by my hand, PDad'* hand, or anyone that knows my children hand'*. If we live in a free society, then I as a member of this free society has the right to defend my family anyway I see fit, and that includes the killing of someone who may hurt my family in the most vile way possible.
This man does not deserve a trial, he does not deserve anything, except to be sentenced to death. The moment you committ an act of violence against a child your rights should be taken away, he acted against a child who under the law is protected by their parents and the state, then it should be up to the parents how his sentence is carried out. He pleaded guilty....good, he can take what he gets, and that should be death. Unless of course there are those who think that he has some rights, (sarcasm coming) maybe we should all get together and hit him with a bunch of teddy bears, and let him tell us how bad his childhood was
, and then we will all feel sorry for him and then he can be set free........Yeah, not in this life time.
Now I am not saying that all criminals should be treated equally, what I am saying that ANYONE, who puts their hands on a child for sexual gratification needs to be hung, shot, and any other bad thing you can think of. Not all crimes are the same, but in this case, death is too good for this thing.
Okay I am done my ranting......

Pardon me but if you officially plea guilty you give up your right to a trial. The only process remaining ,to my knowledge, is sentencing. At the time of the plea I beleive the judge is required by law to inform the defendant and once a guilty plea is entered its not easily withdrawn.
So, again, why is this at trial? Anyone know?

Unless you've spent time "behind the fence" with these individuals, you'll never really understand.
Put on a uniform and spend 5 years in the environment and you'll see my point of view.
I'll leave it at that. I'm out of this thread.
