Well, yeah, but it'* not like if the person let the dog roam that they "deserved" to get it hit. Sometimes even people who are keeping an eye on their dogs lose them for a bit (happened to me, long long story-but the dog was okay). I'm not saying run and report it, but I would at least do some investigative work myself...if that was someone elses dog they deserve to know what happened (maybe minus the "I wasn't paying attention because of my cell phone" part). If you can't find it, let the authorities know...like Sol says, the owner should know what happened to their pet.

Well, he didnt stop so the tags and the remains are probably washed away by now. And who knows, it could of been a wolf or something else like he said. Yea, its a shame for that dog, but at least he ran it over, imagine if he tried to swerve at those speeds? Could of been a lot worse IMO.

I'm not usually one to speak contrary around here very much....
But I think it'* pretty twisted how a family'* pet being distructed because of a careless act is being talked about light-heartdly.
How would you feel if someone hit your dog while playing with a cell phone then posted about it on the Internet?

Maybe they shouldnt of had that dog outside in below freezing temperature anyways. All the dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles, frogs, fish I have owned, none of them escaped. And who knows, it could of been a stray, which only helped out the pet population, since most of them cary disease'* or parasites of some sort, which can easily be transfered to a house pet, I hate that so much. And when it comes down to it, its the owners fault.

ive got to say... its just a dog... and whoever owns it probly doesnt care were it ran (ive had a dog b4, they rarely get away if u have them chained up properly), so the owner probly had it coming.

id say the bigger issue is playing with a cell phone at 80 mph, getting off easy with a dog is one thing but wut if it was a person? thats why the banning of cell phones while driving is spreading

I'm not going to scrutinize you for using your phone while driving, I talk on mine too. But I still watch the road. Others can be guilty of fiddling with the radio while they're driving, a D.I.C. etc. It'* just one form of distraction. I know quite a few people who have gotten into accidents because they were paying attention to the radio settings more than the road.

Andrew likes to text on the phone in the car. I have a few times, but usually they were at lights. I don't do that anymore though really..
Small animals are hard to see, i slowed down for a dog last week, and the only reason i saw it was because i had my Hella'* on. Low beams woulda made it a little more dramatic, but i woulda been fine i think, he wasn't waiting for nobody.

well anyway its his loss because insurance doesnt cover anything unless a police report was filed and makeing a bogus police report is fraud
