I wouldn't give any more the 500 for it, MAX. mileage/motor who know how long the tranny will last...then you could have other problems arise and be at a loss.
IMO 500 cash is better than donating it
I may donate it if it doesn't sell. Make a reasonable offer, you never know.

And remind him that the tax writeoff has changed for donated cars. I believe that you can only write off the difference between the amount it'* sold for and the KBB value. Don't quote me on that.

I went to go look at it yesterday, with high hopes of low prices. I brought a trailer and $650 cash. He didn't bite, he said there was someone that was coming with $1300 if I didn't buy it. BS, but whatever. I ended up making a Mall of America trip out of it and got some new shoes
The car was in pretty good shape as it was a Flordia car. There was some paint chips out of the front fender where some ice had pushed the fender back making it rub on the door. Otherwise the car was good on the exterior. The interior was in good condition for 189k. The carpet was pretty worn, and the drivers seat bolster was ripped, but it was clean otherwise. The window tint was poor and pealing off. The trunk leaked and had water in the spare tire well. The battery was dead and wouldn't even turn the motor over. A small part of me believes the motor could have started up if the battery was good.
Someone else'* project
