I love the way even captive animals will reach out and interact. Even if it is out of desperate boredom.
I was at the Cincinnati in an tropical Atrium that has alot of plants, tree'* and birds. And a two toed sloth who had inched out on a branch and extended it arm and seemed to be motioning his fingers at me. Being so tall I was able to reach up to him with my forefinger and he clasped a hold of it gently and just held it. Diane, I, and alot of people around us just went, Awwwwwwwwwww. Then a gruff looking lady in Zoo attire from a balcony yeolled down at me and tild me not to interact with the animals because it was dangerous and taught them "bad behavior". I let go and people murmured how sad the situation and "Miss Snotty Britches" I wanted to take him home. LOL. Dangerous? Yep, I have read some horrifying accounts of vicious sloth attacks in he wild.
Fact is you can even pick them up in the wild if you happen upon one on or near the ground .
