I've always been pretty partial to Johnny Walker Red myself.

blue is just a BIT too pricey for me...

im looking for more brands/blends/malts to drink without spending $160 on a bottle of blue. or 120 on a bottle of 21 yr McClallends

been a scotch drinker for some time, and the best i've had to date, other than blue label (waayy to expensive) is McCallan 18yo single malt. very very good. the 12yo is also pretty darn tasty! if your going for really really cheap, the best is Speyside 12yo single malt, very good taste for a bottle that runs around 25 bucks!
