Ok, my friend just picked up a '96 Jeep Cherokee. From what he is telling me, it has a Turbo Diesel 4 cylinder, mated to a 5 speed manual. The speedo and gauges are in KM/H and I have NEVER seen anything like this. Was it a Canadian model the US never got? Let me know, as I do not believe him. :? He only got it for $800 and runs great, no rust.

It might just be a Middle eastern vehicle. The only reason i would say that is because i used to own a 1986 Caddy Fleetwood with the 4.1 motor which had a special Middle East Production model aswell. From what i recall it was insanly rare with only 250-500 produced. Im not 100% about the motor, but from my knowledge it was a 4.3 L LS2 Diesel V6, 85 hp (63 kW) engine. Gonna do some research.

A four cylinder Diesel was also available with either the five speed manual or four speed automatic. The Diesel engine was the Renault 2.0l Turbo-Diesel. Most of the Diesel Cherokees were sold in Canada and Europe.
