Ok, so the yard by me just got a McClaren Turbo Grand prix in. I talked with the guy briefly to see if there was any way I could buy it whole, with title. he said no. Tomorrow I am planning on going at lunch to talk to someone a little higher up and hopefully will have better results.

The car is complete. If I can't get the whole thing, I am going to try and get the front clip off it, which shouldn't be too much.

Does anyone know what parts are particular to the TGP that I should also grab in the process? I think the Seats are I believe, but not sure what else is from the doors back.

Does anyone know if you can legally buy a car from a junkyard, specifically in NY?

If its a part-out, go after the intercooler, intake manifold, and if they are not cracked, the exhaust manifolds. The turbo, I think, isn't too critical as I think they are Garrett designed and easilly obtainable.

Go after the HUD, the dash, and the DIC as well.

IMO there really isn't anything on the car that is worth your time if you are trying to do it just to make money or something. A COMPLETE turbo setup from one, by complete i mean turbo, intercooler, piping, oil lines, exhaust manifolds, the tranny turbo support, downpipe, chip, boost control solenoid, oil pan, etc..... is only worth ~$500. Other than that the only other parts on the car that are really turbo specific are the tranny, front clip, the actual dash cluster (which probably reads way off anyways, and if they are good they still are only worth like $35), and the turbo badges on the car. Other than that I believe everything else on the cars were available on regular 88-93 GP'* as an option.

Unfortunately there really isn't much of a market for those cars and the parts for them. The only way it would be worth it was if you were going to put one together for yourself. Other than that its honestly just a waste of time IMO. Not to mention all said and done a complete good condition car is worth like $2500-$3k TOPS.

This is what I wanted to hear. I will probably try and get the turbo specific parts just to have. I did toy with the idea of building up something with a 3.1L in it, but I am not sure.

I was told I can get the entire front clip for around $350, so even at $500 for just the turbo setup, it still may be worth it for me. I am going to try and see it and also guage interest on other forums to see if it is out there. They also have a 30 day return policy, so if it fails to deliver, it can go back
