I don't remember them being generic, I'm pretty sure they all said they came from RockAuto and had Rockauto tape on them, and Rockauto'* address at the top all the time. Can anyone verify?

Correction, I can! Indeed it'* their warehouses. Here'* 3 of their seamlessly endless number of warehouses. Ohio, Texas and Maryland.

Rock Auto does not manufacture anything.

As far as the rest of this discussion, you guys are nuts. If you don't like their shipping costs, don't buy from them. I find (shipping costs included) their prices to be very competitive, and I have on many occasions received a part the day after I order it. Their help desk is very helpful, and they will take back any part they sell, even if it is your mistake in ordering it.

Rock Auto rocks.

Of course they don't manufacture anything, nobody here said they did. Almost no parts warehouse does. Point is, it'* their job to stock and ship it, and either way you are looking at it after all these years, they are either extremely negligent (stupid) in organizing and need a serious restructuring or they purposefully do this to drive up the shipping costs. How do you have so many commonly ordered parts for the same car in A-J warehouses? I'm not the only one, others have responded and you should see my thread on FB, I'm getting hoorah! galore. If you are fine with paying them that way, ok. That'* your choice. Many like me, are tired of it.

Look again at your boxes and shipping labels. All black and white and printed off the laser printer. The printer prints the RockAuto name on the label and printer. That same printer can print "Chilin Michael Auto Parts". And yes the shipper places RockAuto magnets in the box. RockAuto DOES NOT OWN A SINGLE PART. The are simply a parts broker.

I, like many others, would love to hear their response. Absolutely no offense intended.

Have you considered the possibility their parts are located in various warehouses according to where their suppliers are located? You think they should carry spark plugs and spark plug wires (for example) for your car in the same warehouse, but what if their supplier for plugs is in California, and their supplier for wires is in New York? The warehouse location strategy could be aimed at minimizing in-bound transportation costs, which in turn keeps selling prices down. What you pay in shipping costs is offset by the reduction in piece price due to the lower in-bound freight costs.

At the end of the day, the best way to express your negative opinion of Rock Auto is to not buy from them. You remind me of someone who moves next to an airport and then complains because there are planes flying over your house. If you don't like it, don't go there.

That'* true, but I'm not the only one who complains, and if nobody ever actually tells them, nothing will ever be fixed. I'm not the first, probably won't be the last. I'm giving them a fair chance to reply and explain themselves.
